Colorful Pyramid Toys

The large and small pyramids crochet with only single crochet stitches using scrap yarn.

Materials:
  • 2/0 crochet hook
  • Mainly 4 ply yarn
  • Polyfil
  • Bell
Small pyramid: 25 chains & 22 rows.
Large pyramid: 40 chains & 41 rows.

I don't know how to write the pattern so I came up with this simple pattern. Both of them were made with the same method just different number of stitches and rows.

As long as when the whole thing looks like a square, it is time to stop adding row. When the rows are complete, fold the opening the other way to form a pyramid, then continue to single crochet to shut the opening halfway, stuff polyfil and add a bell into the stuffing and continue filling the pyramid up with polyfil. Then proceed to single crochet the opening till the end, cut yarn and hide it. Tada! I probably didn't describe the process good enough, I hope that the photos on the left will help you visualize how to fold the opening.

Yumie playing with the small pyramid :D She gets really excited when there are bells in the toys. These pyramids are really soft and bouncy too. Kind of fun to play fetch with. Hehe

Cookie with the large pyramid, it seems like the large pyramid isn't as nice to play with as compared to the small one, it might be the size of it and the weight of the polyfil. I'll observe the large pyramid more. ^^ Though even if it's not a toy, it looks pretty cute as a decoration item.
